vialytics
As interim CFO, Ruben Faust led the build-up and scaling of the entire finance function at vialytics – a VC-backed SaaS/AI scale-up with offices in Stuttgart, Paris and New York. Over roughly 30 months (2022–2025) the company grew from around €3m to €15m ARR.
Situation
vialytics was in a classic hyper-growth phase: rapid revenue growth, international expansion and venture-capital funding met a finance organisation not yet built to Series B level. Robust controlling, reporting and FP&A structures – capable of carrying investors, board and operational growth alike – were missing.
Challenge & Brief
The brief: build the finance function from the ground up to be investor- and growth-ready – accounting, controlling, reporting and FP&A at Series B level – while securing two financing rounds and the international expansion into France and the USA in parallel. The reporting line was directly to the CEO.
Approach & Result
From day one, Ruben Faust took operational finance leadership: building the complete finance processes, implementing a full-stack ERP (Oracle NetSuite) integrated with Salesforce, owning due diligence and supporting two financing rounds. He incorporated the international subsidiaries in France and the USA and scaled legal, compliance, HR and back-office alongside. The result: a fivefold ARR base and a finance organisation that runs independently at Series B level after the mandate.
